A Banawe food trip, Chinatown without the river crossing.
Banawe Street is called Quezon City’s Chinatown for its long run of Chinese restaurants, from Hong Kong roast houses to a Taiwanese canteen in the Michelin Guide. It is the north-of-the-Pasig answer to Binondo. Here are nine stops, an order to eat them in, and the parking advice you will want.

In short
A Banawe food trip is a crawl along Banawe Street in Quezon City, the city’s Chinatown, between Quezon Avenue and E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue. Stops named in 2024–2026 sources include Fong Wei Wu (Taiwanese braised pork and beef noodles; Michelin Selected), Cai Hok and Causeway for dim sum, Eat Fresh for Hong Kong-style Cantonese, Muy Hong for fresh lumpia, Ma Mon Luk for mami and siopao, Mandarin Sky, Bugis for laksa, and Moon Hey for hotpot. Weekday lunch is quieter; on weekends, go early.

The place
Why Banawe.
Banawe Street links Quezon Avenue and E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue, with the Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arch at the Quezon Avenue end. Its long run of Chinese restaurants is why it is called QC’s Chinatown.
In 2025, Fong Wei Wu — a plain Taiwanese turo-turo on Banawe — was named a Michelin Selected restaurant in the Michelin Guide Philippines.

The order that works.
- Dim sum to startBegin at Cai Hok or Causeway around Z Square while baskets are fresh. Siopao and siomai for the table, not one each.

- A noodle or lumpia breakMami at Ma Mon Luk or fresh lumpia at Muy Hong — something light between the rich stops.
- The Cantonese platesLemon chicken or lechon macau at Eat Fresh, or laksa at Bugis if the group wants a change.
- Hotpot to closeEnd at Moon Hey, where the conveyor belt brings the dinner to you.
Timing and getting there
How to do Banawe well.
- Weekday lunch is quieter. On weekends, arrive early.
- Parking is tight. Street parking on Banawe is limited; one tip from 2026 is to park near Sto. Domingo Church and walk a block over.
- Use the arch as your landmark. The Filipino-Chinese Friendship Arch marks where Banawe meets Quezon Avenue.
- Share everything. Dim sum, roasts and hotpot are all made for the middle of the table.
- Bring a bag. Siopao and dumplings travel well for the people who could not come.
